Ain't No Postin' When He's Gone...

I know I haven't posted in a couple days. Oh well. I might stop this altogether soon. Don't know yet. Anyway, some videos.

This has gotta be one the most useless things I've ever seen: The Necky. It's like a Snuggie... for your neck... What's next? Headie for your head! Handsie, for your hands! Dicky for your... well, you get the picture.

Yup.

I'm gonna finish tonight with a download. Here's Trivium's 2005 release "Ascendancy." I think this was their most articulate album to date, and a sort of balance between the different aspects of their music. It wasn't strictly heavy metal like "Ember" was, and not as shitty as "The Crusade" was. Enjoy.

Guess What Tomorrow Is

Tomorrow is my mother fuckin' birthday. And it's gonna be sweet. Cuz I get money. So today, I dressed up like an elf and delivered Christmas presents to the elderly at a nursing home. And also found out that my former place of employment has since firing me hired a new guy. Fuck 'em. I hope the place burns to the ground.

Anyway. I found this video earlier. I think it's funny.

Yea. It's alright. I need to cut this one pretty short, so I think I'll just put a link to a great CD.

This album is one of my favorites: Trapt's self-titled disc. Listen to it yourself. It's great. *Quiet snicker*

And until tomorrow, that shall be all. Hope you liked the download... Hahaha!

Happy Turkey Day!

Everybody get enough to eat today? I did. It was hardcore. Turkey, mashed potatoes, cheesy veggie casserole, the works. Plus some pecan pie and banana pudding. Anyone going shopping tomorrow? I'm going to Best Buy to pick up the Game-of-the-Year Edition of Fallout 3. It's like 20 bucks. That's a steal compared to the normal $60. So I'm leaving at like 4:30 in the freaking morning to get it. Fun.

This is funny. Billy Crystal and Robert DeNiro work well together.

This video also kind of makes me laugh. Happy Thanksgiving.

Damn cat, always eating the pie...

So, for Thanksgiving, be thankful for another music download! Woo! Today, 10 Years' "Division." This is their latest studio effort and one of their best. The guitar work on this is phenomenal and the atmosphere was perfect. From the slower songs like "So Long, Goodbye" to the harder ones like "Just Can't Win" and "Actions & Motives," it deserves a listen.

And that's all today, gotta get some shut-eye for the shopping tomorrow. God, I sound like such a chick. See ya!

There's More to Living Than Being Alive

Okay, this is gonna be a short one, cuz I still need to do dishes and then go to bed.

Here's a little story about why not just anyone can be a ninja. This guy attempted to leap over a fence, but was then impaled on it... He's fine, but you can't recover from stupid...

Okay, we haven't done this in a while: music downloading! Woo! I'm an enabler! Alright, today I have for you Alice in Chains' "MTV Unplugged" disc. It's absolutely fantastic. So many of their songs translate so well to acoustic, and this CD proves it. I can't think of any downside to this album. If you like hangover music, why not wake up drunk with this?

Alright, here's a video. It's actually a commercial from American Express, but I love the music in it. I believe this is the prelude to Bach's Cello Suite No. 1 in G Major. And I love it.

And with that, I bid you adieu. I'll see you again tomorrow.

Football is for the Birds

So, about a week ago, during an Oakland/Phillie game, a pigeon joined the Raiders.

The refs should've called that foul: that's an obvious 12 man penalty... The Raiders offered him a contract for $20 million in bird seed, but it looks like he's going to turn it down to pursue his interest in sculptures...

So... here's why you shouldn't do drugs. You may falsely accuse people of being zombies... Yea, it doesn't make a hell of a lot of sense to me either...

Here's a video of a guy buying condoms.

I don't understand why guys are so paranoid buying condoms... It's like proof that you're about to get laid. College Humor also has a "Girl Buying Condoms" video, but I don't think it's as good...

We shall close with a download. This probably isn't a band you've ever heard of, but I really dig them. They're called Automatic Loveletter, and they are similar to bands like Paramore and Hey Monday. Listen to this: it's their "Recovery EP." It's pretty sweet. I especially dig "Make-Up Smeared Eyes." It's an acoustic masterpiece. Her voice is very... unique, too. It's got that same pop punk sound, but it's... I don't know, not as clean cut as say, Hayley Williams' voice. Anyway, download and enjoy.

Rockin' It Old School

So, for the past few days, I've been without an MP3 Player (due to a faulty chip which has rendered it completely inoperable). So, I've been sporting a 1998 walkman. No shit. Cassette tapes and all. Here's the links to download the cassettes I've been jammin': First, there's U2's 1991 album "Achtung Baby," which one of my teachers let me borrow. I really dig a couple of the songs on this album (notably "One," "Ultra Violet (Light My Way)," and "Tryin' to Throw Your Arms Around the World"). It's maybe not U2's greatest release, but it's still U2, and therefore awesome. The other tape I've been listening to is Cheap Trick's "Live at the Budokan," which I wasn't able to find a link to. So instead, here's a link to the album with the only song anyone knows by them anyway ("I Want You to Want Me") on "In Color." The live tape is pretty good, so if you ever get your hands on it, it's worth a listen.

So, when I'm on the YouTube homepage looking for cool videos to post here, a few things stick out. First, if a video's title is in all caps, like the one I'm about to show you. Also, it helps to have a few key words that draw my eye...

Honestly, I know what you're all thinking, but I'm actually more interested in the upper body strength of most of those girls. It's incredible. Particularly Jenyne Butterfly. Hardcore.

So I'm on msnbc.com, and I see a news story that says 22-inch man (guess what my initial thought was). Then there's a caption that says "I'm the world's shortest."I'm like "not at 22-inches you're not! That's world's longest, sir." But then I find out it's talking about his height. Holy shit. So, read this story.

That's all for today. I'm gonna get back on track with posting every day, hopefully. Chelsea's gone all weekend, so I won't be distracted (wink wink, nudge nudge).

Advice Dog Saved My Life

I can't believe I lived so long without his wisdom...

Yea, I know it's awesome. YouTube is wonderful, isn't it?

More advice, you say? Look no further than the Philosoraptor...

This is a video by the creator of Philosoraptor that's also pretty good: The Socially Awkward Penguin.

And I'm pretty sure most of these things I've done... I don't think I've stared at my grandmother's tits though...

So, this is one of the luckiest things I've ever seen: A guy is in the middle of an embezzlement case, and he wins the lottery. He'll still see jail time.

Okat, something to download. Shinedown is arguably one of the best bands of today, and it was hard to narrow it down to one album, but "Us and Them" has some of their best work to date on it. The bottom half of the album is especialy good, with songs like "Shed Some Light," "Some Day," and "Fake." Brent Smith's voice is one of the best around, and I guara-fucking-tee you'll love this album, or your money back... Since you didn't pay, I'm able to make that statement without fear. Haha.

Anyway, that's it. It was a long one today. Mata!

No, I Don't Want to Take a Short Political Survey

We watched this video in Government the other day. It's from SNL.

I love it.

Here's a video my brother showed me: How to Play Guitar... Well Enough to Get You Laid

I just watched this 45-minute long movie called "The Call of Cthulhu." It was made in 2005, but it's in the style of a 1920s silent movie. It was... alright. Kyle couldn't stay awake when he watched it. But he was right: Cthulhu needed more face time. I read a review on imdb.com that said Lovecraft doesn't translate well to video. I need to read the book, then. Right after I read Dante's Inferno, which is first on the list right now.

Alright, download this album: Pearl Jam's debut release, "Ten," is freaking great. Virtually every track is a work of art. This album has a ton of atmosphere to it, which I especially love. It surrounds you, man. Too bad Pearl Jam doesn't really sound like this anymore. Join the "Get Eddie Vedder Back on Heroin Campaign," so they'll sound like themselves again... Anyway, great CD.

That's it. Tune in again tomorrow. Peace.

Happy New (Fiscal) Year!

Hugh Jackman is funny.

"You wanna get that?"

Here's a fail for you. Courtesy of FailBlog.org

Because fuck parallel parking!

So, the University of Florida seems pretty safe, in case you're thinking of enrolling there. They have an organized, detailed plan for what to do in case of a zombie attack... I went to their site to send you a link, but the disaster resource link is down... Damn.

Anybody ever seen "My Cousin Vinny"? Cuz this reminds me of it...

So you remember a few weeks ago I told you about Halestorm (who happened to be at X-Fest, in case you were there...) Well, I finally got a link to their CD. So, here's your download for today. Halestorm's self-titled CD is one of the best I've heard this year. Lzzy Hale's voice is absolutely incredible: one of the best female hard rock voices ever. I love this CD, every track. And I swear, she's had more sex than anyone I've ever heard of...

Alright, that's it. Hope you liked it. Happy new fiscal year...

I Guess That Explains Why I Can't Remember the Rest of the Night

Let's download, shall we? Today, New Found Glory. I couldn't find a link for "Coming Home," which is arguably their best work to date, but here are their other best albums: "Catalyst," which is an excellent way to be introduced to the band. It contains some of their most melodic songs and also most of the catchiest. It'll keep you humming for days. Next is their latest: "Not Without a Fight," which is a bit of a contrast to "Catalyst" in that the songs on this album are more real, they aren't pretentious, and many are far less catchy. It does happen to have my favorite by the band though (Listen to Your Friends).

So, today I learned that the people of the United States have been lied to... and I'm not talking about Sen. Joe Wilson's argument... I mean that we don't pick the freakin' president. Never have. I hate the government in this country, man. Pisses me off. I told my Government teacher we need a revolution, and he said "If you start it, I'll follow." Anyone else?

And speaking of Joe Wilson...

Shitty quality, but oh well.

News. Someone's cremated ashes were stolen in a burglary. Answer me this: why the fuck would your uncle's cremated remains be in a Ziploc baggy? When you can answer that... God help us. In other news, Texans proudly displayed a flag with only 43 stars... Because fuck Alaska, Hawaii, Rhode Island, Montana, Wyoming, Iowa, and Kansas.

I'll leave you today with this. Because it makes me smile, then feel dirty.

So, do we tell him thank you and send him on his way, or should we give him some money... I think this is a grey area...

The Iron Maiden is Still Acceptable, Right?

So, this video is very political, dealing with torturing those convicted of terrorism, but bear with me.

It's an excellent debate...

So, has anyone heard Theory of a Deadman's newest single "By the Way" yet? I think it's the best song on that album (and therefore, I'm pissed it's the FOURTH single). But here's them playing it acoustic, since they haven't made a video for it.

It sounds just as good this way, I think.

So, it seems like all the good bands decided to wait until the last couple months to release their CDs. Chevelle released Sci-Fi Crimes at the end of August (slipped through even my radar). September 8th saw Thousand Foot Krutch's latest, "Welcome to the Masquerade." Muse released "The Resistance" on the 14th. September 20th held Pearl Jam's latest, "Backspacer," which I've heard is awesome. Yesterday we had the newest from Three DAys Grace: "Life Starts Now," and also Five Finger Death Punch: "War is the Answer." Next week, on the 29th, we'll see Alice in Chains, Paramore, Breaking Benjamin, and Default. Fucking sweet.

Okay, you wanna download something? How about Aberlin's "Cities." It's a fantastic album, and probably the best thing we've seen by them so far. While there aren't many "hits" on the album (as in songs you've heard of from the radio), every song could've (and should've) topped the charts. Anberlin isn't exactly like all the other stuff out there. They're kind of punk, kind of alternative, and all badass. Click the link and enjoy.

And that's it. TTFN!

House in da House

Anyone see the House season premiere? It was awesome. Anyway, Zane told me I should post today, so here it is.

First, an album. This is by a band that deserves to be good, because their debut, self-titled CD was fantastic. Theory of a Deadman did a really nice, consisntent job on this record, fusing the grunge, country, and metal perfectly, unlike subsequent releases. Every track rocks. Chad Kroeger should write more of their stuff (trivia: Chad Kroeger of Nickelback wrote the whole album).

How about a video?

It's hella fuckin' balls to the wall awesome.

Okay, one more from the Onion...

It's an interesting topic to think about. Who would've guessed that multiple stab wounds could shorten your life span?

That's it for tonight, cuz I'm tired and can't find anything cool right now. Peace.

I'm Just Not On the Ball...

Okay, I missed yesterday for two reasons: The internet was screwing up and I'm just plain lazy. So, I will once again post double today. I won't make missing days into a habit, I swear. So, let's start off with a rant.

Rant #95 – Nines and Twos Don’t Go Together
I was at King’s Island with my friend and I saw this really good-looking girl getting off The Monster. Next to her was seated a guy who looked like a cross between Carrot Top and a ferret. He had this Jew-fro thing going on and it looked ridiculous. I motioned to them discretely and told my friend to look. He said “Dude, she’s hot.” Then he saw who she was with and said “Dude, she’s with him?” I nodded. It made no sense. We watched them as they got off the ride and went out the exit, hoping that maybe they were brother and sister, or cousins, or anything other than a couple. We didn’t see anything that made anything definite, but we agreed that they definitely weren’t siblings. So here’s my question: How the fuck does a guy like that get a girl like her? It’s like Jessica Alba dating a chimpanzee. It just doesn’t make sense.

Now a video from the comedy group Elephant Larry.

This video actually taught me how to play Minsweeper... Yea...

This is an old video, but it's awesome. Improv Everywhere (I posted something by them before) is a brilliant group of people that set up situations to make people laugh. Most of the time, people don't know what the hell is going on, but they think it's cool anyway.

That's one of my favoites. One of YouTube's favorites, too. This went viral a year or two ago.

So, I know this commerical is old, but I saw it for the first time in a while yesterday.

In other news, I just got laid off. Which sucks. This economy, man, I'm tellin' ya... But I'm not gonna bitch about it... much... Here's an album to download. Two, actually. Kamelot released a two-part epic based on Goethe's "Faust." And it is epic indeed. In case you don't know who they are, Kamelot is a symphonic metal (meaning that it's melodic and atmospheric) band from Florida. But anyway, these albums do a great job at telling the story, but you don't need to know the story to understand the songs. So, here's Epica (the file is big, so it's in two parts: Part I, Part II) and The Black Halo. Listen and enjoy.

And that's it for today. I'll post some news and other stuff tomorrow. Peace.

Just When I Was On a Roll

Yesterday, I got up at fucking 9 AM, so I could go to band practice. From there, I went to my cousin's birthday party at Coco Key Water Resort. We were there for like, a long time. Hours. And hours. So that's why I didn't post yesterday. And today, I'm fucking tired as hell. And I had to babysit my two nieces while my sister was at X-Fest. Fun. But I'll try to post double today.

This video always cracks me up. The dark side of news personalities:

Fuckin' thing sucks! Haha.

This video will make you slap your forehead. This lady's a moron.

Honestly, maybe there is something in her water. Why else would she seem so damn out of it?

Now for another exciting installment of Albums I Like... Or whatever I decided the title was... So, today: Alter Bridge's sophomore effort, "Blackbird." The band is actually just Creed with a different signer, but you'd never guess it. The guitar work in this album is just incredible. And Myles has an incredible voice. It's like listening to heaven or something... It's good, download it.

Here's one of the most chilling bigfoot videos I've ever seen.

Haha, the funniest at least.

Okay, I think that'll be all for tonight. I'll post again tomorrow.

To the Pac-Cycle, Quickly

Coming soon to a theater near you.

Here's another album download. Today, Rise Against's fifth (and latest) release: Appeal to Reason. It opens with a couple of hard-hitters before melting into a softer side (with "Hero of War" and "Audience of One"). The album is brilliant, start to finish, and that is why it is now a part of The Albums You Should Own (Legally or Otherwise). That's officially the title for this segment, by the way.

Today, President Obama gave some kind of address to students. So, I'd like to put up some presidential videos...

If that doesn't make you piss yourself, your funny bone must be broken. McCain actually got rick rolled by that video during one of his speeches. The wholoe crowd starting cheering for Obama. YouTube it.

Here's another one, from MadTV.

*Pisses pants* That's one of the best videos I've seen on YouTube. Love it.

Here's some of the latest news: A doll redefines the word "inappropriate." That's just freakin' ridiculous. And it seems that a conspiracy theorist has convinced Neil Armstrong that the moon landing was faked... I think he's being sarcastic. But I don't know, let me know what you think.

And that's it for today. And it was a hell of a lot. I'll post again tomorrow, faithful readers.

So, I Guess We Can Either Have a Steak or a Shake...

Happy Labor Day, everyone! Or at least it's happy to anyone who either A) didn't have to work, or B) didn't go to school. For me, it's both!

Let's load up some new stuff today, shall we?

Happy Tree Friends. Always fun. In a ridiculously twisted, morbid, and disturbing way...

Anyway. More music downloading! Yay! Still haven't really come up with an official title for this, but I don't really care that much. Today, Linkin Park. A little more commercial than Cold. I couldn't decide which was better: "Hybrid Theory" or "Meteora." So here's both of them. They've got generally the same sound, though personally, I think they're completely different. Hybrid Theory has kind of a cold, wintery sound (if that makes sense), and Meteora is more warm, more of an earthy sound. But whatever, probably doesn't make sense to you. They're both great albums.

Music news, anyone? So next month should be kind of exciting. 30 Seconds to Mars is releasing their first CD in four years, to be titled "This is War." I guess Kanye West has been a part of some of their recording process, and he is singing (without Auto Tune) on a song called "Hurricane."

Creed will also be releasing an album the same day (which happens t obe Ocotber 2), entitled "Full Circle." I think it's funny that they're back together. Mark Tremonti had even said that they would never, ever get back together. But money is money. And he can get more money with Creed. So anyway, it's Creed's first release in five years, and their first studio CD in eight. They have 17 songs right now, but that will most likely be trimmed down before the release.

I'm done for today. I'll catch you later (tomorrow) with new stuff. Until then, adios!

~Christian

Dadada Dadada Dadadada (Dododo, Dododo)

Okay, so I've been slacking, I know. And I know the reason... but, it's all good. Cuz I'm gonna give you a lot of stuff today. Like, a lot. I don't even have other tabs open. I'm devoting all my attention to bringing you the goods.

First up, Fall Out Boy. Quit booing. I don't care (hehe) if you don't like their music. Their videos are hysterical.

Ha! Andy drops a piss balloon. Classic.

More stuff, more stuff. How's about this: Another bigfoot sighting.

Chilling, chilling footage.

News! Let me ask you something. Are you cool enough to own a cannon? How about fire one through your neighbor's window? Yep, just count on me to bring you news that makes you go "WTF?" Like this story: a douchebag slaps a crying kid in WalMart... That's freakin' stupid. Do it where no one can see you...

Moving on... Music! I heard Alice in Chains' new song "Check My Brain" on the radio the other day. I'm impressed. William Duvall sounds just like Layne did back in the day. "Black Gives Way to Blue," their first album in 14 years, comes out September 29.

What do we want now?... How about some DLC (that's downloadable content, in case you didn't know...) This is gonna be the start of a new section called: My Favorite Albums. Or something like that. Cuz I'm I'm only gonna post albums I really dig. The first one is Cold's 2003 release "Year of the Spider." Nearly every track is fantastic, and it was much more articulate and easier to listen to than their previous releases.

And that's it for today, I'll see you tomorrow!

~Christian
